Emily grew up in Southwest Virginia on a 77-acre farm where, from a very young age, she began to learn what it takes to manage farm land.
Growing up on a farm allowed her to be able to learn to ride horses and she began to compete in the Hunter/Jumper discipline. Her riding experience helped to earn her a scholarship to attend St. Andrews University, in Laurinburg, NC.
North Carolina has been home for Emily since 1996, and she still enjoys riding and showing. Her background in the equestrian community gives her the ability to truly understand the wants and needs of those looking to buy not just residential property, but also farms and raw land. Emily became a real estate agent because she saw a tremendous need for a competent agent who truly listened and understood the wants and wishes of families throughout the real estate process. She specializes in providing concierge-level service and communication to her clients so that they feel engaged from start to finish.
Emily comes to RE/MAX and Hillman Real Estate Group with an extensive background in corporate America where she worked in human resources and community relations. Those previous roles give her the skills that are key in helping to understand her clients wants and needs, and the ability to negotiate on their behalf throughout the entire real estate transaction.
